Everytime I try to open a Video file, i get the error cannot open, the file is unsupported and it is an .avi file. Any help would be very appreciated.

First Make sure you have the Proper codec installed so TMPGEnc can read the File....

Also Make sure the audio format in your AVI file is NOT "VBR MP3" or "Dolby AC3" and if it is which is very possible then Run the AVI file through this Tool...

If after this you get the same error message then go to "Options" to "Enviromental Settings" to "Vfapi Plugins" and Raise the Priority of the "Direct show Multi-Media File Reader" to "2" and then the File should load into TMPGEnc without any problems.....
