when mac os x updates itself it runs a hard drive optimazation wizard in the background and udates all drives pluged into the mac including ipods and psp's and locks them out apple completly denies this and says there os x software is bug free but that is a crock

This happend to me to I think my 9-In-1 reader killed it, although I never told the Store \ SONY? about that. I just said that the MemStick died on me and that I had truly over Six distinctly dead \ Stuck Pixels on the LCD. Unfortunalty it took almost Four Weeks till I got my replacement back. =(

An expencive lesson learned! Now I only use the MemStick? Port on the PSP? via a USB2.0 connection. =\

However I I did get to keep the copy of SpidermanČ =)
that came with that Vale-Pak. And UMD? Movies don't impress me much. Certanly not for the ?29.00 ~ ?19.00(EUR), that SONY? whant for that Crap!! >=(

But, if your still able to do so try returning the PSP? back to where ever you got it from. If that's no longer possible, well I guess it's time to get a new 'Stick.

Yeah Four Weeks is probably to late. =(
I'd sopose the next thing you could do is, to dig though either the PSP? Manual, and or the Documentaion(s) that came with that 1Gib Memstick. Get the contact info from there, and see if you can not get it RMA'd Yeah it's a B*tch! But, it's better then shelling anouther ?100.00(EUR)+ for a new Memstick?...

hey, theyre all covered by a 12 month warranty, so unless youve smashed it wish a brick, you have a right to get it fixed/replaced by sony.
