Magic Swap DVD and CD. why?

hey! i just ordered Magic Swap and i dont have it in my hands yet, but i was wondering why do they give you a CD and a DVD boot disk if the ps2 reads DVD's, why do you need the CD?

Some PS2 Games use CD's like Lego Star Wars, you boot ps2 cd games with swap magic cd and dvd ps2 games with the swap magic dvd
