@neomic2k6,
Please edit your last post and remove your serial number. Trust me lots of guys have been posting around here looking for free numbers and hoping that someone would give theirs up. Please don't give away the farm here..

Here are a few possibilities,
1.Turn your DMA on
Quote:
=== Scsi-Device-Map ===
DiskPeripheral : WDC WD1600BB-22GUA0 IdeChnDr Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : SONY DVD RW DW-D22A IdeChnDr Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : SONY CD-ROM CDU5212 IdeChnDr Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : AXV CD/DVD-ROM 2.2a a347scsi Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
Here's how
http://www.burstcopy.com/dma/xp/

2. not sure of your exact model DVD/RW drive but check to see if your firmware is uptodate.
Quote:
Physical memory : 502MB (514864kB)
Free physical memory: 50MB (51368kB)
Memory in use : 90 %
Uncached PFiles: 0x0
your memory usage is very high, don't multi task, shut down any other programs which are running at the same time. Hit CTRL ALT DEL and bring up the windows task manager and kill any unneeded programs.

3. try not to burn so close to the edge,
take your write size down to 4300,
Quote:
7:40:52 PM #5 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 279
Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB)
Last address to be written: 2286026 (508:00.26, 4464MB)
try this and see if that helps. DMA and memory usage look like the biggest culprits that I see, more experienced eyes will pick up other things i'm sure.
Good Luck, hope that this helps.

Try turning on your supported media check.

Are you trying to copy from another disk using the disk at once method? If so try unchecking that and write to the hard drive first, a little slower, but less burn errors.

I learned recently from aD member Maxburn, that if you have an external drive that this is ok. If it is an internal drive, check out this aD thread that Maxburn has posted.

You don't have much free memory. You need to close out some other apps and proggies running in the background. Check the system tray.

Nero doesn't like the disc you are trying to burn to. You need to use good quality media like Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden.

Try these things, and let us know!

Oh, and (YELLING VERY LOUDLY) EDIT OUT YOUR SERIAL #!!!!!!!

Just lucky buddy, still trying to learn how to read these logs myself, now if AD could just install a serial number filter here on the website... I'm sure some guy somewhere in the Ukraine is writing furiously this evening with all those nice version 7 serial numbers.....

That filter is a good idea. Maybe you should suggest to a mod?

When I actually burn, I have allmy other stuff turned off, but just because I was getting a log, I just left it on because I knew I would get the same error message.

Something is eating your memory, use the windows task manager to check what is happening in the background, you might be pleasently surprised..The log won't use any memory at all.

blivetNC is right about your memory.

Try this little freeware app.

It is called Process Explorer by Sysinternals. It will show you which program is running what process, and it has some great little features to.

if any of you sees something out of order, please tell! i'm desperate...

oh yeah, my drive still writes some dvd's though. fuji +rw 4x and platinum +R 8x are no problem for my 2.4 speed drive. but my new imation DVD+R 8x disks just won't work. none of them.

Don't feel bad, I'll bet 90% of the AD lifers here have fallen into the CMC MAG pit at least once in their lifetime. (The remainders are either too shamed to admit it or they read all the posts before they bought some.) But we all live and learn. (to listen to DocTY)

hehe, too bad. 100dvd's... oh well, someone's interested in buying them as i got them pretty cheap.

anyway, i found a pdf file hidden on a disc that came with my computer which had some mediacodes that were supported by the drive. the imation code (moser bear) was not one of them :(. besides, Nero speeddrive told me that the available speeds with this disk were... 4x and 8x. my drive won't go faster than 2.4x... another problem i guess.

anyway, i'll probably buy hp discs now: they have mediacode MCC003 which is on the list of my drive, and in the 1st quality media list according to this site: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
a bit more expensive but i guess they'll be worth the money...

Not all Imation are CMC, but an 8X disk may not be rated for 2.4X on that (2.4X)burner, the firmware doesn't recognize those disks, maybe there were no 8X disks around when that burner came out.
Perhaps a simulation with Nero and checking the avaiable speeds would help.

well, my platinum disks are 8 speed, and those work without any trouble. wrote about 50 of those without any errors.
i checked those with Nero speed tool and it also says something like 'strategies: 4x-8x'... still... those work.

i'm puzzled. either way, i'm selling my discs to a friend and bought new ones ... HP8x... they do the job :)
