Take the big dummy file out of smackdown. Try rebuilding Rugby League 2 With ExPERT. Check my sig for more details.

Okay I checked out the RL2 thread. It doesn't appear anybody tried rebuilding the game with Expert (Gnie's new rebuilding tool) or CD/DVDGen. I bet there's either a dummy file someone missed, or it just wasn't rebuilt correctly. There was one person who said that a rebuild with Nero and IsoBuster worked fine, and a couple others who said it didn't. Looks like human error to me. Try rebuilding all three ways, burning on different media, different speeds, different programs, not having a bunch of stuff running in the background, making sure your burner is in DMA Mode, and defragging your HD. If all that fails, then there may be an issue. It's clear to me that people haven't tried all these things yet. Give it a try and lemme know how it goes. Some stuff that will help:
10. Q. What does rebuilding an iso mean?
A. It means that some games 4.36-4.38GB's may need rebuilt to work with Swap Magic. Games over 4.38GB's will need rebuilt. This isn't true for ALL games over 4.38GB's and differs on a game to game basis. There is no need to rebuild games if you have a modchip.
11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?

Download it and then follow these instrcutions and it will work.
1. select Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins list.
2. Select the iso.
3. Click extract LBA
4. Click extract file
5. Click rebuild file
6. Click rebuild lba.
Make sure you do it in that order.
This worked for me when every other way failed.
It is very easy to do so even the noobies should be able to do it.
Keep in mind im backing up the PAL version, but if your having trouble backing up with NTSC then i dont see a problem trying.

To burn PS2 games with Alcohol 120%: Insert your blank disc. Open Alcohol 120%. Go to File-->Open. Browse to your iso file and double click it. Right click it and click image burning wizard. Select your recorder, set the data type to PS2, check rectify sub channel data , set the write speed at 2x or 4x, the write method RAW DAO, and click next.

i tried the expert tool too..yep it reduced the file to 1.2gb i burnt it with DVD Decrypter the playstion 2 logo comes up then just goes back the browser...no meaning..ive got all day to work it out --day off from work--any help/links??? hey good on ya 4 workin out the PC version blushift! Lets get the PS2 version sorted!!!!!

What media are you using?

I use TDK it works great for every other game i have ever used/backed up....I once had a fifty spindle of sony DVD-R once about ten were fine the rest were faulty.. stay away from sony media if poss...anyways I dont think its the media in this case check out the forum---http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/5/267765

Well big manufactures outsource their DVD's to many different factories. DVD-R's made in Taiwan tend to be of poorer quality than those made in Japan. What's the media code on the those TDK's. To check the media code open DVD Decrypter and insert your disc. Check what it says under manufacturer ID against what's listed here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

yeah the DVD is what its says it is TDK (TH02) I used the method u suggested and also i used one of my favorite tools DVD indentifier...ive tried everthing mate no luck maybe a patch is definately needed???

I backed up smackdown with DVD Decrypter and it burned fine on a nothing disc (princo) and it worked and i didn't have to shrink it or take out a dummy file.

well, although i am a newbie i did manage to make a copy of RawVsSmckdown by using sonic record now. all i did was clicked on exact copy, it read the contents then it asked 4 a blank disc, i popped that in and it was burned. and da game works as gud as the original.

As far as I know 3Dluis, patching the game just changes the video mode and doesn't affect the DNA's. Can't you just download the PAL version? Thanks for adding my guide to your sig.
@Physique try rebuilding the game all three ways. I'm sure it's possible to boot it with a mod. Personally I rebuild with Nero and IsoBuster. But any of the three methods should work. Is there a dummy file everyone is missing?
