i hooke up my pc to my tv but i hooke it up thru my vcr with my rca addapter with video only. it gos all the way to the widows xp where you see a bare moving at the bottem of the monitor but when it gos to turn on the desktop it shuts off and gives me a blue screen.why does it do that and can some one tell me how to fix it!

what is the make and model of your graphics card.

do you mean that the computer gives you a blue screen and shuts off or that the tv screen goes blue

need more info may be able to help here

i dont know the model number but i bougt the graphic card a year ago. i mean that it works on the tv to the point that its about to go on my dektop on the start up an then it gives me the blue screen frome the vcr.

it would be helpfull to know the model number... if you could find out i may be able to help you more.

If its an Nvidia card that youve got then this is the way to do it.

right click on your desktop and go to properties. then go to the settings tab and click advanced. if it is an nvidia card you should see a tab with your graphics cards name and the nvidia logo. click on that. you should now see a menu, click on display settings. now you should see a picture of a monitor with a drop down box above it saying display mode. click on the drop down box and select "clone" mode. this should make your TV display exactly the same as your monitor.

let me know how you get on.

also find out what your graphics card is by right clicking on my computer, go to properties, click the hardware tab, and then click device manager. when youve got device manager loaded click on the + sign next to "diaplay adapters". what ever is in there will be the name of your graphics card

i did what u said i hava a nividia it dosent work it does the same thing and it goes back to the setting it was on and i just cant figur it out.

What output connections does your video card have and how are you connecting it through your vcr?

Is there anyway you can connect it directly to your tv instead of through the vcr?
