I had been using Nero Express 6 to burn MP3 and and audio discs on cdr without any problems. I recently upgraded to version 6.6.0 and cant burn anything! I reinstalled Nero a few times without any errors..I dont get any errors. When I start the burn process it just tells me to wait and the green status bar never starts..nothing gets burned. I just keep waiting and waiting...finally have to manually abort. I am using win XP Pro SP2 and is updated. Any thing I can troubleshoot? Thanks in advance

First, you'll need to update your Nero to the latest 6.6.0.18 (package #1 & #2 only).

Secondly, let's have the "very last section" from your Nero logs and creaky (our super friendly Moderator) will help to tweak you through (and or I'll volunteer to help too, hehehe). Go here to get your Nero log: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory -- now REMEMBER to EDIT out your Nero serial (something like 1A23XXXXXXXXXXXX) before you're going to post here.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

I went to the C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero folder but there is no "Nero History" folder. There are only two folders named CDI and Uninstall and a whole bunch of files in the Nero folder...nothing that says History. Pls advise. Thanks

ok, here's my proverbial copy/paste -

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

The only history log I could find is this in Programs/Nero/Nero7/Core/historylog. I did a file search and this is the only history log found. I did have Nero 7 a few days ago..I removed it and loaded Nero 6.6.0.18 instead. I could find no history log in Programs/Ahead/Nero Thanks for looking into this. Here is the history log:

I see, so you're using Nero 7, not Nero 6. For future reference, to get the very last section of your logs, go here: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory and remember to EDIT out your Nero serial before you're going to post back in here.

Quote:
Nero Version: 7.0.0.0 (Nero Express)

Nero 7.0.0.0 is known to be carried lots of bugs, so it's wise to update to the latest 7.0.1.4 (Nero stated that it has fixed nearly all of the bugs and issues). As a matter of fact, I'm using Nero 7 Premium 7.0.1.4 and it's burning flawlessly, even my old 7.0.1.2 burns left to right without any issues whatsoever.

I'm afraid, there's no current firmware to support your burner, try to search the net for any available firmware or try toshiba's website to see if they'll have one for your burner. Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1782 and you'll see what I mean, it has not been any new firmware since October 2004.

What happened here? It looks like you cancelled or aborted the burning process.
Quote:

This is too much, your CD-R can NOT hold more than what you want to write. It can only holds up to 79:59.73 only, and you're trying to write/put in as much as 84:12.74 -- that's 5 minuites more than the capacity of the CD-R. Try to "delete or take out" at least 2 songs and you should be fine.

Your burner says there is no blank media inside the burner at this time. What happened?
Quote:

Again, look at my previous reply. It's stating that your CD-R doesn't have enough free discspace to write. Try to delete at least 2 songs.
