hello members,
<I have a 1.5 firmware installed on my PSP right now>

i have two problems with my psp the first one is that whenever i try deleting any iso's or any other files on my psp it deletes but the capacity still remains :S (is my psp bricked? and what does bricked means anyway?)<sorry for my newbiness> and i tried formatting my memory stick but no hope.i think it has something to do with the memory stick itself. Is there anyway to fix this? :(

ok the second problem i have a 2.0 firmware on my GTA:Liberty City stories UMD and whenever i try to update it i can't there is a screen which displays nothing on it except x & o on the bottom :S
i got no idea what to do :'(

PS:do u think i didnt add too much info?

Please help me

Thanx :D

Bricked means that you can't do anything with your PSP. Ex. it wont turn on, it just shows a black screen and you can't play games on it or nothing! Its basically DEAD!!

But about your psp I really don't know. But it sounds like a problem with your memory stick. What brand is the memory stick?

1. Will I have problems playing a lot of the newer umd psp games (and also for the games to come
in the future) if i downgrade to 1.5?

2. Can I rip and play my PS2 games to play on my PSP?

3. I'm thinking of buying a 1G Sandisk Pro Duo memory stick, but noticed there is also a "gaming" 1g Sandisk Pro Duo Memory stick.
Is there any difference? Or any 1G Memory Pro Duo Stick work?

hey

1. yes you will have problems playing newer games say GTA. but i feel that the value of homebrew far outways new games at the moment

2. there is no ps2 emulater at the moment wether or not someone makes one is debaable - it all depends if someone can do it. and can be bothered

3. i can't really see a differnce i thingk it may be just to distinguish between the normal one (for cas and stuff) and the one for the psp (which are the same so to be honest im not sure

hope that helps

Thanks for that reply.

Question: I am planning to use IRC to get psp games. Will that be doable?

How will I know what games I can download and play on psp? I guess Im not really sure what u meant by homebrew? I thought it was just as easy as backing up movies, I could do the same for my ps2 games and play on my psp.

Ya I am pretty sure that would be impossible. There is not even a fully working one for the PC. Plus the PSP is not that powerful of a system, and it would not be able to run it correctly.

1. best to get ISOs off torrents. Don't ask me any more.
2. $0ny is slowest, $0ny high speed is better, Sandisk is fastest. Gaming Edition looks better and has a slightly faster read speed. Sandisk Ultra II Has a tremendously faster write speed but is expensive.
3. If you're using a standalone ISO loader like you go into games and it says CODED ARMS not FASTLOADER then you're just deleting the loader not the ISO. But you said you tried to format... Did you buy OEM? from China?
4. If you have EVER used Homebrew that writes to flash (eg fastloader, umd emulator, lua player, PSPPDA...) you will have this problem. when you update it's all blank squares. Easy fix. Go to Restore Default Settings in Settings/System Settings.
5. If you downgrade to 1.5 you will miss out (so far) on only 3 games: GTA, SOCOM, HUSTLE. But HB is much better. AAAAAAAAAND they're gunna crack 2.5 so then when they do so you can just upgrade to 2.50.

I was told to change my sig so I did this.
