Thanks for the thumbs up on latest version 7.0.1.4.
Could you or someone advise me on best procedure for upgrading.

I purchsed the box version of Nero 7 Ultra Edition a month or so ago and shortly after seen an upgrade to 7.0.1.2
At that time I completly un-installed and downloaded the 400 + MB file and re-installed.

I now see on this update a file without Yahoo Tool Bar 100.65 MB.
Can this update file just be installed over top of 7.0.1.2, or would I be best to completly un-install again ??

Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid, you'll have to download the whole 100MB from Nero 7 Ultra or Premium. I've just downloaded earlier and upgrade to 7.0.1.4 successfully. First, I didn't "uninstall" my old 7.0.1.2, so I ran the new setup file, it looks like it adds another 161MB or something. So, the total is like 261MB. I thought it's kind of weird -- I then, uninstalled my old Nero 7.0.1.2 and reinstall the new setup file from 7.0.1.4 and everything went smoothly, but in the end the total is still 261MB.

Hummm.... I thought that Nero had fixed this upgrade thing on this version by now. Other than that long downloading process and reinstall process, everything is great so far for me.

I've just did a test/burned with Nero Burning Rom 7.0.1.4 with my favorite top notch YUDEN media, and afterall it still burns flawless.

alkohol - thanks for prompt reply.

I will download the 100.65 MB file and install over top - see how it goes.
I would imagin it leaves all the other programs intack.
Recode - SoundTrax - ShowTime - etc.

Yes - I also thought I read somewere about making upgrading easier.

Maybe in the next upgrade as quoted in " ireland's post "

Yeah, I know what you mean. However, what I really meant is why can't Nero (as big as Ahead) create certain files that needs updates only (ie 15MB or 20MB for the newly updated version) and leave the ones that doesn't necessary need to updates as is, instead of we have to download that big 100MB files whenever we wanted to upgrade/updates? Other than that, I have no complains/issues at all.

Yeah I think they probably will after they get it sorted kinda like they did with v6 in sections. I also noticed in my newsleter from them they expect to have out another update and demo version before the end of the year.

Ok - I downloaded 7.0.1.4 and installed over top of 7.0.1.2.
Yes it did remove old files.
Updates also to inner programs - Wave Editor - Showtime & others.

Have not burned yet - but all looks promising.

Thanks again.

After all that hoopla about 7 having an update engine to keep us from having to use all that bandwidth...it's about time to smack Ahead upside the head.

What happened to all those rumors about it being able to update within the program?
