Hi im new to this i have a version 1.5 psp from japan, and i have all the umdemulator stuff in the correct place, i have just realised from reading this forum that i also need a umd in the psp, as there was no demo that came with the psp i bought i will have to buy one. What do i have to buy, a film or a game, also is there any chance that the umd i put into the psp will upgrade my psp from 1.5 to 2.0 or above, not good, please can someone advise.......

dont think it matters what type of umd you have but you could probly find the demo disk somewhere or from someone who dont want it.

i just keep a umd game in mine that came in the bundle.

It wont upgrade your firmware unless you choose the option that comes up when you insert the umd. just dont choose the update option !

I think it has to be a Game. and then that depends on the Loader you use. I could be wrong, I don't have expreance with Loaders. But, IIRC Devhook does not need a UMD to boot +.iso's.

As far as covering your butt, you should look for the Sony X Teams' \ WAB's Firmware Changer. With this you can misrepresent your Firmware version. (i.e. Trick it into beleaveing it's higher then it realy is),. At which point you won't be nagged into updateing your PSP?.

Problem is... Your PSP? will remain a v1.50, so no GTA:LCS, SOCOM et-al...

I use Devhook, but i find that it can't run games like Tiger Woods... although i have not used fastloader i have heard it can load games Devhook can't...?

I think you'd be best to buy a game, as that's what ur trying to play an iso of.
