Hey guys. I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right place.....so forgive me if i'm not. I am using fairuse wizard to make .avi files from iso in either divx/xvid codec...depending what i click. I get to a part where i can choose my video output size like 672x256 or 704x272 etc, etc. Does anyone know what the best output video size is for viewing on tv? Thanks ....again sorry if this is the wrong place.

For a DVD source the best resolution is the original DVD resolution, with the black borders cropped. Can't remember if fu supports setting the PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) though. This is required so that the results resize on playback like the original DVD.

That all said you will get better quality by lowering the resolution if the bitrate isn't high enough for full DVD res.

So to sum up, the resolution you should use depends on the source and how compressible it is and the bitrate that you use. There is no magic one fits all resolution that you should use. To get an idea you can run some compressiblity tests.
