I have read all over this forum and I have come to the desicion that different softwares and guides work for different people. If you newbies or pro's want to save a headache when backing up movies protected by Sony Arcooss or CSS, just simply get Any Dvd 5.6.3.1 and CloneDVD 2.8.5.1. I spent a whole day and night reading different forums to copy stealth and very few worked for me, maybe for you, but not for me. I came across one forum that mentioned AnyDVD and CloneDVD and I tried it. Thank God it resolved all of my issues. I have officially buried DVD Decrypter, DVD2One and DVD Shrink. Any Dvd, Clone DVD and DVD fab does it all without all of the long and painful steps & processes. Yes, it's simple, faster and relaxing! Enjoy.

DVD Shrink and DVDFab are great programs and have always worked for me, there's been a few cases that DVDFab could handle a movie that AnyDVD could not.

The problem with that is that some can't afford to pay or simply would rather not pay when there's software that does the same thing for free. I agree, AnyDVD and CloneDVD does simplify, but those who are a little more frugal, choose spending more time as opposed to more money! This is why you see guides and threads for those who need assistance. The only problem with the freeware is that people often make using them a lot harder than it is. They find it difficult to follow the most basic of instructions and have to be hand held through the entire process. Congratulations to you for having the wherewithall and presence of mind and ability to purchase software that simplifies the process and saves you the expense of your valuable time! We're all keenly aware of what software to use, but thanks for thread and welcome to AD.

the old adage from more experienced people around here is: Use what works for youThe reason for that is if your hardware is working fine and your movies are easily backed up using what you are using then don't mess with success. Exploit it. That's what made my collection from 150, back when I didn't know any better before I joined Afterdawn, to now well over 800 without problems! I have plenty of FREE programs that still work perfectly, but I also have others that cost me money. If one doesn't work I move to the other but I use the ones that will produce the best quality video so I won't have to redo a movie that was done years ago! So, in conclusion, Afterdawn is here to solve problems that people have with backing up your DVDs, and more (take a look at other forum titles and you'll realize that Afterdawn isn't just like a regular Forum that consentrates on one subject). All I can say is be happy that there is knowledge out there that can be used to solve any and most people's problems in this forum..... long live AD!

All the above mentioned programs have their place both free and paid. I like them all because I like to play and do the same thing a lot of different ways kinda like sex.lol Just my opinion.

I went from having 26 original movies to now having a collection that exceeds well over 1000 backups...thanks to Afterdawn and it's members. I just had to post this info because every thread helps someone in need of knowledge.

Well I hate AnyDVD and Slysoft.

And all those movies you just mentioned can be backed up with Either Decrypter, DVD 43 (The older version even), Fab or Shrink in any combonation. It will take you 5 minutes at the most to find out which works.

You can just Take a movie, Run it through Shrink with 43 in the backround. And if there is no green running through the main film or and video disruption, you can use Shrink or Decrypter to Decrypt it.

If there is than Use Fab.

Simple as that.

@Argg...... that's a strong statement:

there are plenty of members who disagree with you on that. I won't defend a program that you feel so strongly about..... just remember that it works and people love it with the combination of CloneDVD. Do what works for you!

Every software may act accordingly on different systems and burners. We are here to help each other, not to be the most righteuos one of AD. In the past, I have easily backed up movies with Decrypter and Shrink that I have seen others having issues with. Then I have had problems backing up movies on decrypter and shrink that others have done with ease with the same software. I only stated that AnyDVD 5.6.3.1 and CloneDVD seem to work pretty good together, with hopes of helping someone on AD.

@Agindtown... meant no disrespect to anyone.... just didn't take too kindly to Argg comment that he HATES a program. Opinions are opinions and you have to use what's good for you. that's all.

your words are the truth IHoe, and I hope argg understands that even if one feels negative about something, one should keep the negativity to themselves.

It would be interesting to know what transpired to ilicit such animosity from argg. speculating to myself...maybe lost his key and they wouldn't give another...

What else could it be. The program certainly lives up to its claims.

That's a first! Never heard of someone who hates AnyDVD or Slysoft! WoW!! I think 9mmruger1 hit the nail on the head about Argg. He lost his key or had an illegal cracked copy and couldn't get a key (probably the latter) and now is pissed. We could be wrong but probably not! Most, in this forumn, know that 99% of the time AnyDVD is pretty reliable and Slysoft has been very expedient with the updates, even before it's known to us that we need it!

Argg --- You HATE AnyDVD and Slysoft! WOW!!!

AnyDVD is the best program for the money that I have ever bought. If you want to skimp on software forget the CloneDVD and use DVD Shrink or Nero Recode2 with AnyDVD in the background. Works for me 100% of the time.

i'm all for free programs, but when it comes to AnyDVD, it's one of those rare programs that's worth every penny (and will hopefully have a long life due to Slysoft being out of reach (of the greedy corporations) over in Antigua. there's certainly nothing wrong in having a variety of programs also
