I was trying to get online with my Son's PSP and it would detect network but not connect. Read manual and called customer support.
Turns out u need B-wireless and won't work with G-wireless. Not written anywhere though. Had an old B-wireless hooked it up and it worked. If u don't have combo B/G or Pure B u are out of luck.

I would suggest taking the PSP to the library, friend's house or wherever u know there is a working B network to make sure the PSP works. Customer support kept telling me to send the PSP back as if there was a problem with some not working. If it works elsewhere then u at least know its a compatibility problem with your network.
They pretty much give away the B access points now and u could try a new one at that point.
