I'm trying to get my sound input to work on my new custom PC, but s'not working properly... I used the input on my old PC to plug in my guitar or my microphone, but that was through a sound card because the mobo didn't have onboard audio. My new PC is using Realteak AC97 onboard audio... and the output works completely fine with my speakers. The input refufes to work though. The mic is turned up to full volume on the sound properties menu of XP, but i get nothing (unless I have my mouth like less than an inch away from the mic). My guitar gets no reaction.

Any ideas on how I can get it to work?

Nah, everything's full volume and nothing's muted. Like I said, it works, but very very poorly o_O I'm beginning to thing it's the shit sound software that came with my mobo =/ Not like there's an option to uninstall it...

See, if you read... for a brand new motherboard, I expect the audio to work properly. There really should be no need to buy a seperate soundcard. And $300? That's about half the cost of my entire custom PC xD

you want great sound you have to pay also there is a configure in the sound and audio section in control panel that configs the mic for you. try that test first before going out to buy new.....could be the mic is bad...peace
