You can't write the code for ps2 on the discs..that's what the modchip or swapmagic is for.. to trick the ps2 into thinking it has a proper disc. If it was that easy to do, then someone else would ahve done it by now.
The only way to do that would be to buy a dvd press, which are very very expensive.... dvd writers can't write in the area that the ps2 checks to see if it's the proper disc.
DVD Decrypter and Nero Express or Nero Burning Rom can "Book Type" any of your DVD+R into DVD-ROM easily when burning. Yes.... DVD-ROM is the best dvd format, in fact, DVD-ROM is the universal format, it will play in all PS2 consoles and all functional dvd players. *(NOTE: it will only "Book Type" DVD+R, DVD+RW nd DVD+R DL media into DVD-ROM, you CAN NOT book type any DVD-R media.)
I've always book typed all my backups (including PS2 games or dvd movies) into DVD-ROM, and so far all of them plays flawlessly. Teach and learn, now pass it on.
In addition, if you want to learn more about Book Typing all your DVD+R, DVD+RW and DVD+R DL media into DVD-ROM, so any of your standalone dvd players can play them smoothly. Remember, quality last, not quantity or speeds -- so don't burn over 8X if you feel the need to go beyond 4X, plus use high quality media.
Here is a guide on how to "book type" via DVD Decrypter. This is when you're "ready" to burn to the blank media (DVD+R DL, DVD+R, DVD+RW) only. If DVD+RW and DVD+R/+R DL doesn't work, then try the (DVD+R/+R DL Media - EEPROM!) - it should work. NOTE: set both of your "source" and "destination" ready, then do the following and burn it.
If you have the following set to "Automatic" then whenever you use Nero Recode 2, Nero Express or Nero Burning Rom to burn, all your backups will automatically set the book type to DVD-ROM. That is... if your DVD burner is capable of book typing.
((Here's how to Book Type using Nero Burning Rom))
01) open up Nero StartSmart, then click on Nero Burning Rom 02) EXIT out the "New Compilation" when it pops up
03) click on "Chooses A Recorder" (it's a small burner icon next to (I) and the arrow down)
04) click on ?Options," then on "Book Type Settings," set to "Automatic" and click "OK" - that's it... easy as smoking. Now every time when you burn using a DVD+R, DVD+RW or DVD+R DL disc, Nero will ?automatically? change the Book Type into a DVD-ROM format.
