Trying to back up GOW for PS2. Problem is that i do not have a modchip installed yet. I will soon have a DMS4 EZI chip installed.
I want to copy GOW to DVD9 disc.
I place GOW disc into DVD-RW drive and load up DVD DECRYPTOR
PROBLEM: DVD DECRYPTOR shows that there is no protection found on the GOW disc. When i try to burn an ISO image using DVD Decryptor, everything works fine. I am concerned that I may use DVD Decryptor and then after I install the modchip, the backup of GOW will not work because DVD DECRYPTOR did not remove the protection which was on the original disc. Please let me know if this is a problem.
Obviously, I am new to backing up PS2 DVDs. Are there certain games that I have to back up in a different way? Can I just use DVD DECRYPTOR to back up all PS2 DVD games or do i need other tools which will remove protections and etc..>?
I would normally just burn the DVD backup of GOW and test it out on my PS2 but my modchip is not installed yet. I will only have GOW for about two more days before I have to give it back to the person I borrowed it from.
In other words, I need to burn the GOW disc successfully the first time around (i.e. no room for error).

It should work, but if it doesn't, just rip it down to DVD5. BTW, there is no protection on any ps2 game that you need to get rid of (besides the need for a mod chip).
