1. Do you have a modchip/boot disc? (You can't boot without a modchip, and NO, you can't download and use a boot disc)
2. Is your PS2 a version 7 or higher? (Most of the older ones can't read +R's or, +RW's, and I think even -RW's.)
3. What speed are you burning at?
4. What media are you using?
Just stick with 2x-4x burning, good media like Ritek (and +R or -R), and DON'T POST MORE THAN ONE OF YOUR TOPICS. If it doesn't get answered immediately, that doesn't mean you should be posting your question in other topics or creating more of your own topics.
It's Festivus for the rest of us!

a boot disc is used to fool the ps2 into thinking that a backup is a original ps2 disc.

do people ever research anything!
no, Swap Magic comes with 2 discs.
A DVD version for loading DVD based games
a CD version for loading CD-Rom based games
as if that were so hard to figure out.
Do not use CD-RW or DVD-RW discs for doing PS2 games.
They just do not work well and some PS2's will not even read them.
Use the standard CD-R or DVD-R, for DVD i suggest 8X speed.
make sure it is good media, if you do not know what "good media" is when it comes to burning PS2 games then try searching these forums and i am sure you will find hundreds of posts that will tell you.
there are two methods os modding the PS2
1. a mod chip- best method but more costly to START WITH. in the long run a good chip that has flash upgrades will save you money.
2. Swap Magic and an aftermarket flip top- cheaper method but each time they release new versions of Swap Magic and you want or need them, get ready to shell out more $$$
without modding the PS2 you can not play back up (copied games)
only copied movies.
i hope this puts and end to this thread already.
