It worked the first time but now it doesn't?

I'm using DVD+R discs, my first ever backup worked first time and still does.

My second ever backup also worked first time but now doesn't work anymore. Why is this? Is it the media? Why would it work just once?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a media issue. You might want to try better media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, TDK or Sony.

You could also try cleaning your laser to see if that helps.

either that or even try some -R media instead
i have had much better luck with -R than +R
but that could just be my burner.

Burned again to a new disc and this one works?? I've now also done a third game which worked first time (haven't tried it since) with Phillips +R. I've got some Sony -R now though, so maybe I'll try those next as recommended.

I use the Philips all the time,in fact i have for the past year at least, except i use the 8X -R
and they work great for me. I used the +R for movies
which also came out great.
But the Philips should work good.
Have never tried sony since Philips worked so well i just never switched.
