I need some help with the following issue. thanks in advance

I have a P4 2.8 running on 1 GIG RAM with 9800 Pro...I occasionally experience hiccups in games where the gameplay stutters and goes downhill from then. Some games like Doom3 are very problematic, others are mild, others are fine. I have a temp stat and my max CPU temp is 60C. This is running of a Xavier III case with 7 fans. Im wondering if the problem is related to either:

a) CPU cooling fan which is stock Intel (i changed to a custom and the result was worse, so Im considering a good cooling fan if anyone recommends)
b) CPU speed...i doubt
c) Gaming card 9800 Pro

i appreciate feedback

Its either A or C. I would guess its your CPU heat because my 2.8 Celeron runs at 20C while surfing the web, etc. and no more than 28C when gaming and I have the stock heatsink/fan. 60C seems way too high. Is it 60C idle or when gaming? Did you remember to apply thermal paste between your CPU and the Heatsink when changing the fans around?

Ya I applied the thermal paste and even put on SilverLiquid or whatever the hell u call that...60C is max when gaming, idle is about 40 or so. So im guessing get a new fan?

Do the hiccups in games happen immediately after you start playing or some time after?

some time after usually a good 10min into the game - after which they appear every now and then or sometimes progressively gettting worse

i originally had suspicion of my mobo (since its generic and maybe the architecture isnt that superb)...however i think the CPU heat issue could be more probable

Yeah its probably your cpu overheating, but it could be you video card overheating too. What are the temps on your video card?
