im really having a problem burnin ps2 games, the media i am using is sony dvd-r 1x - 8x, i have swapmagic version 3.6 with slidetool, my ps2 version number is SCPH39003, im using dvd decrypter and/or alcohol 120% to burn the games. I know that the swap magic disc isnt faulty as ive tried an original version of The Warriors and it booted the game but when i read the iso with dvd decrypter and then wrote the iso with dvd decrypter my swapmagic says that "Not A Valid Ps2 Disc" Im really annoyed as im doing everythin right.
please help me if you can

What speed are you burning the disc at? With 8X DVD's, you should try 4X. If that doesn't work, move down until it does. Also, is your DVD burner firmware up to date?

Try this: right-click My Computer>properties>Hardware tab>Device Manager. Then, you should hopefully see a list. In that list, you should see something like DVD/CD-ROM Drives. Click on the "+" sign to the left and that will drop down the information for your burner. If you double-click on the drive, then click on Details, it should give you the 4-digit firmware code that is installed. Once you have that info, click on the firmware link in my sig and check to see if there is a newer version of firmware for your drive.

yes, could be out of date firmware, or your PS2 just doesn't
like the Sony Media.
What other games have you tried to do?
Just so we know if there is anything special about the burning
proceedure. I do not think there was anything special about The Warriors game.
Also just so you know, putting in Swap Magic and loading an original is no real test as the original would load anyway.
But is Swap Magic loaded up then i figure that disc is fine.

Ive tried doin the special boot still says Not a valid ps2 disc, the other games ive tried are American chopper 2,Grand theft auto 3,Smacdown vs. raw 2006, and warriors.Ive tried the firmware thing but i have many drives so i dont know which one is my DVD-R drive. i doubt that a sony ps2 would reject a sony dvd disc.and lastly there isnt anything special about the way ive been burning but i tried a different today, I saved the iso with DVD Decrypter then i opened the iso with iso buster then extracted the contents to a file and put it in to Nero the way it was listed on iso buster and now iam all out of ideas, i mean it says "SwapMagic" but its not magic.
please help

Swap Magic works fine, you're doing something wrong. Try different media or burn speeds.
1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc.

Do you mean that is the first format that they show up as? Or is that how they show up after you extract the WinRAR files?

Glad to hear you got it working. Yeah you need to extract the files with WinRAR. Click on the link in the word WinRAR and it'll take you to a download page. Then follow this guide:
56. Q. I downloaded a PS2 game and I have files like Game001.rar, Game002.rar, Game003.rar, where's the iso?
