I have recently bought swap magic 3.whatever and the swap card. So far it seems they work 100%. I can play burnt ps2 games no problems, even when I burn an image. But psx games is where I have trouble. I have tried every way I can think of and yet to no avail. The swap magic thingy says "Not a ps2 game" or something. Is there anyone who can help me?

edit: I can't make burnt images work. Direct copies work fine, but images wich i d/l off the internet are giving me trouble.

Breaker pro? And you are sure this program will work? I'm only asking as your answer was a
bit vague.

edit: Oh dude, I don't think you understand my problem. I just found out what breaker pro
was and I don't need it. My problem is with the programs I use to burn PSX discs, not my
hardware.

Um, yeah you do need breaker pro. Swap magic cant boot psx games. You have to buy breaker pro (or a certain gameshark) also to boot them.

Oh right, shows how much I know. Can I use a copied version or do I need to use a real one?

I'm guessing that the gameshark thing has to not be a copy, right?

I'm not a big expert with gameshark but, maybe you can use swap magic to boot up a backup of gameshark then boot up breaker pro backup??? but, why even bother with the gameshark? just get the breaker pro since you can just use a burned disc of it in conjuction with swap magic. Also, I left my first answer vague so you can do a little research on the subject and since it's the only thing you really do need to solve your problem I didn't think I needed to make it all drawn out (sort of like this) :)

I'd rather you'd have drawn it out, since some wankers only post small posts to quickly increase their post count. Thats why I was being a little bitch :)
But anyway, it's a day later and I know exactly what I have to do. So thanks all you guys, I guess a mod can close this thread now.

Now that I think about it, I think there is a program you can put on your memory card that will boot psx backups without buying anything else (I don't remember the name of the program though, sorry).

A BreakerPro is like the SwapMagic of PlayStation 1 games.
Just remember this simple formula: CD-based PS2game= SwapMagic CD. DVD-based PS2game= SwapMagic DVD. PlayStation 1 game= BreakerPro.

non-modchip solutions:
For fat PS2, use fliptop or slidetool.
for slim PS2, use magic keys/magic switch/tape+tissue mod or fliptop.

Burn games slow, use good media.

That pretty much sums up this entire thread, though I don't think I'll have to resort to that "formula" any time soon (or ever) :).
