I recommend Ewido. It´s propably the best spyware program at this moment. The trial version has automatic updates and realtime protection for 14 days. But you can use it after that period too but you have to update it manually ( which is really easy btw ). You should give it a try >>http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

thanks for that one spertti, ewido seems like a brilliant program.
i removed the shield though as it was slowing me down a bit, but as soon as i got the full verison thats when i recognised its potential, it offers very good protection and i now also recomend it to anyone else having thoughts on where to go.
it finds keylogers, trojans and all sorts, very useful for beginers.
this is the 14 day trial http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

I didn´t get that. Sorry I´m Finnish =)
Yep Ewido is really good for spyware/malware. If you´re worried about viruses/trojans you should try eScan. it´s a little bit more complicated to use, but when you´ve once got the idea it doesn´t matter anymore. more about the program on this thread > http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/267270
Just make sure you have all the settings like in the picture. Then just scan, and you will propably be amazed.... Likely because you thoght you didn´t have anymore viruses in your computer.

thanks ill try that spertti, what i meant to say was has anyone got any veiws on the program a2(the 2 is super script and means sqaured just to clear that up spertti, lol) by emmisoft, it seems ok so far but i still prefer ewido.
well maybe i was wrong i was quite spyware free, all ewido found was spyware cookies witch ad aware usaly finds but ewido is alot better and soon ill have to purchase it.

I just found the program with google... Never tried that one so can´t tell you anything new about it.

If you use also Microsoft Antispyware you don´t need another program for realtime protection. You can still scan manually with Ewido after the trial version has expired.

You can still update it but you have to do it manually. You can still scan your computer with it. So it only loses realtime protection and automatic updates. I can´t see a reason why you should buy it if you are also using Microsoft AntiSpyware.

so i can still update and everything my only loss is real time protection man thats excelent, that saves me a few pounds thanks.
so you think i should unistall a2 then i dont think its anywhere as near as good as ewido and seeing as ill still have ewido to get rid of dialers, trojans, spyware, adware, hijackers ect.
man thats brillaint i wouldve thought that it would be useless after the trial and would ask for me to buy a license key.

I´ve never used that program ( a2 ), so I don´t have any opinions on that. You can still use the program with Ewido if you want. I have Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Ewido for spyware, and Norton Internet Security and eScan for viruses. Never had any bigger probs with spyware or viruses.

It takes a long time I know.... in my system it takes a little bit over an hour. I have a 200GB Seagate which is almost full, and a P4-2,4Ghz with 1024Mb of memory. You shouldn´t use eScan daily. I use it maybe once or twice a month, and it finds really often something that Norton hasn´t found.

i see, well the pc i used it on was my young borthers and his only has 40GB and only 10 gb used so not much to scan at all.
also i think its 128 ram so thats why it takes so long, how long do you think it will take on a system like that, maybe 2 hours?
well if it does the job as well as you say then the long scanning isnt a problem.
btw, thanks for all the help youve givin me spertti, much appreciated.

Don´have a clue how long it takes, but as I said you don´t have to use it daily, not ewen weekly. Just scan it when you think you have a prob that AVG can´t fix. Or just scan it when you want to be sure your system is clean.
Quote: btw, thanks for all the help youve givin me spertti, much appreciated
Not a problem. And remember all viruses and spyware can´t still be removed with these programs. if you have a problem like that just post your HJT log here, and we´ll take a look at it. Directions on this site ( steps 3 and 4 )http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/263784

well i looked at that comparison on what these programs find and i was quite suprised to see that ad aware was the worst of them, ewido and escan are the best there and thats good as i now use them.
but i have been seeng negative reviews on ewido, but that comparison keeps my faith in the product.

Look there all crap they just want your arm and leg
Then they want to look after your pc (after they had your arm and leg) then they make a new virus and f your computer
Step 1 scan all your downloaded rar files viruses mostly come there
Step2 Dont become a download addict a download things u dont even know what they are
Step 3 Dont go on sites that u know thatll have viruses
Step 4 You need a brain
thats not very helpful at all (the steps are very true though the only part of the thread were you talk sense, lol) , yes i definatly have a brain and i can tell you having this software makes your life alot easier, dont say silly things like that as you will put people off and theese are things you realy need.
Ewido is a great program and will save you from many horrors(and its free after the trial), experienced users such as spertti and -kemisti- have recomended them so im sure we will stick to "anti software" as you say.
And were on earth did you hear that ewido makes you prone to viuses!, yeh ive heard that norton changes your registy severly and makes you prone to some but thats just what ive heard.
