no way to downgrade from 2.6, but i dont think there are any games which upgrade you past 2.0 (or at least that need more than 2.0)

Can u still use ISOS on a 2.0 firmware or do you have to downgrade to 1.5?

you have to downgrade, but anything above 2.0 cannot be downgraded.

Is it true that if u hyave a 1.6 firmware it will protect you from bricking your PSP?

Hehe, not sure who told you that one, but no, there's no such thing as a 1.6 fw, and the only way to brick your psp afaik is to interrupt the writing phase to the flash rom, ie cutting the power (just like any flash rom).

i see, If by some way i manage to brick my PSP, will a de-bricker do the trick or does it depend on the damage that was done?

No, you can pretty much kiss the psp goodbye if you brick it, you'll need to replace the mainboard if this happens, as the chip is attatched directly to it, and it's not like you're able to just lift it off and resolder a new one afaik. Anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Well, it is possible ;) lol you can de-solder it and reflash it if you build the stuff todo it.
but its not realisticly possible.. just being awkward
