Hi, this is just a simple question. I was wondering if there is a difference between forwarding ports and enabling upnp. Liek with Azureus will my download go faster if I enable UPNP or would it go faster if I forward the port. Or will the speeds be the same. I was just wondering since Azureus is the only program that I have taht uses UPNP so I really don't need UPNP enabled and wanted to know if tehre is speed difference. Thanks.

Thanks creaky ;-D
I dont notice much of a difference between having upnp open and closed. The most important thing is having ur ports forwarded/opened correctly. But to honest I have opened ports and enabled upnp
Hope this helps ;-D
No sig for u!.

you're ok, i do Unix Admin for a living, and some of the networky stuff is dreary behind belief, i know my limits; ie knowledge needed to keep being paid versus being a bearded geek :O

Smart idea, stick w/ the stuff you know and get paid for it, wish I could!. Don't know any where near enough information to be payed for it and I'm not about to grow any beards sitting here, lol. Was thinking of going back to school but its been sooo long, lol.

Ok well id it really doesn't make a difference hen i guess I'll turn off UPNP and just forward the ports since UPNP isn't needed for any other programs other than Azureus. Thanks.
