Nero 7 and the program won't read a DVD

I have an unprotected DVD in the drive and when I go to start decoding the DVD, it sits there for around 50 seconds then gives me an error that says something along the lines of Can't read %0 or something like that. I can get the error log but I'm tired and will do it later in the day unless anyone can tell me if there is a setting that I must change.

It's like the program thinks there is nothing in the drive but it starts to spin up after 50 seconds and just spits that error out. The log itself is very short.
