Preview Box Hangs While Editing

I looked around for a prior post on this but could not find one. I have just started using Nero 6.

Within the NeroVision Express 3 program,as I went to begin editing videos I had uploaded, I noticed that the Preview Screen was black. When I clicked on it it opened up and I could see my video Full Screen of course. When I hit escape I could see a STILL IMAGE in the preview screen but it doesn't move at all no matter where the video is in its play mode.

So, I can't edit my movies (cut or split, etc) because I can't see where I am in the movie.

Is this a known issue? Any quick recommendations?

I am using an ATI AIW 9600 XT graphics card, which had no problem capturing the video from my camcorder in both MPEG1 and MPEG4 formats.

Help?
