Hi there, I just went out and got my kid a psp for xmas and obiously from what I'm reading I want a version 1.5 or 2.0 I asked the guy in the shop and he looked a bit confused and said "I'm nearly sure it's a 2.0". So I'm after gettin a package with three games and a 1gb memory stick. From the outside package I can't see what version it is. So basically I want to know where to find what version it is. Thanks.

Next to the barcode there should be a letter.


If there is no letter or an A ive heard that it's a 1.5

But mine has no letter and i'm sure it's not a 1.5 cus i bought it in December, it's also a christmas present

Hi, yeah I just checked and there doesn't seem to be any letter there. It does say "psp-1003 g1" "220-240v" "ws259 g" Don't know if that means anything.

I would say just open it up, keeping it clean turn it on and look at the firmware in the menu. If it is not 2.0 or lower, try to take it back. That is what my friend had to do. Got a brand new one from target, it had 2.01. Took it back, said he changed his mind. Then went and got one at Costco I think it was.
