what version of firmware do you have

here is why i tried this on 2 diffrent psp's

1. with firmware 1.50 it boots sometimes not all the time

2. with firmware 2.00 it boots then gives me a system error

3. i would really worry about this os thingy anyways it doesn't support booting iso's or even other homebrew

it doesn't work on firmware 2.60 sorry

No dude, no downgraders for 2.6, 2.5, or 2.01.. not as of yet anyway. I read somewhere that it was for 1.5 anyway, doesn't work on 2.0 etc. INstalling it now, shame about the not booting iso's, i thought that was the whole point of it :\.. It's only beta tho, so it will get better, but are you sure it doesn't load umd emulator etc? It says to put your programs under psp blah in the readme, will check and report back.

This thing is fucking awesome, i;m playing burnout from it right now. WOrks a treat man, just makes sure you extract the d/led rar to the root of your mem stick, click on programs down the bottom, might be start like windoze, and games.. then just select your loader as per usual I'll check if you can have direct links to games on the desktop, now that would be brilliant, and also someway to by pass the usual psp os system, i love this thing way better than the original psp os... I even have my psp set to 2.0 using PSPset 0.9 and it still works everytime no woriies, best homebrew ever!! If these guys are taking donations, i might seriously give them an xmas present...

You use the stick to move the cursor around like the web broswer in 2.0,

and also, the backgrounds are high quality, no morejaggies like my 1.5 bmps... Using my marvel superheroes jpeg, again, best homebrew ever (besides umd emulator lolz)

Well that's odd, def a beta release, it loaded umd emulator fine the first time, played around, shut it down, started it back up again and it won't laucnh umd emeulator anymore, comes up with a error message and after 6 secs goes back t psposs, so still a few bbugs to iron out obviously... :\
edit, oh, and it doesn't play mp4s either.

lets see if we can test this thing out, anyone want to contribute, please post your experiences with it in here. It loaded umd emul fine, but when i quit back to psposs and changed the theme using the desktop icon, it seeems to have screwed it up from there... WIll play around, uninstall it, reinstall and see if that allows me to boot umd emul again, hopefully it's just a theme bug...

This thing has me stumped man, it doesn't make sense, i wasn't lying when i said it worked the first time, but now since reinstalling it, it just boots back to the original psp os saying error such and such, let me grab the number... the psp oss works fine everytime, no matter ifi ts set to 1.5 or 2.0, but the programs on't... Johnodd, did you get umd emulator to work at all?

I'm going to delete all my custom bg's, and reset PSPset back grounds to original and see if that's works, i have a feeling they just released this to make sure they backedup their promise of getting it out there b4 xmas, hats off to em, but it's still buggy...

Since reinstalling it the corrupted data file is above the working file, whereas the first time i installed it the corrupt one was 2nd...

Oh, and that error message coming up now is (80010002), goin to google it now and see what i get... Is everyone else asleep or what?

EDIT, whoah sorry for all the back to back posts, i've been going from these forums to psp-hacks.com forums, and drinking A lot a lot a lot lol, knowmsayin? J to the r o c bay, bee! hehe :D

Right, after a lot of drunken abuse directed at my psp, and a mem stick reformat(not too mention neumerous back to back posts), i got the lil bastard working again. I'm now playing f1 from umd emu booted from the games menu in psposs, it is sweet johnnodd, but now that i exit and try again same crap ie red error and boots back to psp menu, they need to sort the bugs out before i'll use this regularly, but i'm sure this release is just to show peeps what it's like. I personally like it, looks like it had nothing to do with the theme flaw, just shoddy arse coding.

One to keep an eye on peeps.

The program itself is awesome, it's just movies and web browser and 3rd party titles that are not working properly yet, but a tiny bug for the iso luanchers, cause i've got it to work, and the progress fanjita has made with 1.3.7 fw launcher will surely kick thing most awesome psposs along the right lines.

WOOOT yes i figured it out, the reason it wouldn't boot again was even tho direct load was enabled, the umd umualtorr was riunning the whole time in the background.. LOLOL, so going into psp os and booting umdemulator and pressing triangle, ie unloading it then booting psoss and launching it it works again!!! Yay!

Unfortunately ofcourse it still exhibits the same prob, but noetheless, unloading it allows everything else to work, so that's something for them to address in the next release. I installed loader and dev hook, so i can get around it fro the mean time, but i'm not sure if i'll be able to play all of my iso's, oops im ean i can play all my emus, but those that require umd emulator 0.8c requres me to boot out and use psp os, the orginal. Check it out peeps, they've done a great job with it...

Uh, i thought you had 2.6? Read the posts, it's for 1.5 only, you haven't actually said yet what firmware you're running..

So if yo are on 1.5 it couldn't be easier, and tells you in the readme if you d/led it...

In the zipped file there are two folders, one called psp, and another called psposs. That psposs folder simply goes into the root of your mem stick, ie if x:\ is your mem stick, it simply sits in there.. x:\psposs

secondly the folder with psp goes.. wait on wtf am i doing?

Dude, open the zipped file, select the two folders shown, not the readme at the bottom, and simply exctract the two files in to the root of your mem stick. That easy, it will ask to overwrite psp and game folders, but that's fine, it's not replacing anything, so click yes most definately. Will take a lil while to copy the psposs folder over, around 4minutes on a usb 1.1 connection. And all done, enjoy.
