Well here is the log, when I try and burn the disc it almost immediatly gives me an error, I have burned succesfully before and i get this error spuradically, right now ive been getting it pretty consistently. If I uncheck "Finish Disk" it will actually burn until 100% and then at the end it will give me a "reset occured" error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- think that's the latest Mad Dog firmware for this drive

- 4464MB is burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space

- oh God, you're using some of the most awful, atrocious utter rubbish dvd media there is. get decent media, and glance at my signature for reasons not to use CMC media, also decent media recommendations are in my sig. be nice to your burner at Xmas and don't feed it landfill media :)

The only thing I see at glance is It dont like the media. Firmware update may take care of that. This is there web site with info on the firmware versions

http://www.mdmm.com/support/drivers.asp

Your firmware seems to be the newest they offer at the moment. You may need to get some better media until the release another update firmware then see if you can use up the rest of this media you may have.

Hey, yea Im thinkin bout buyin new media, im usin memorex which i have heard suck. I am setting the target size to 4300 now, one thing though, i have been able to burn on these DVDs. I have backed up 5 DVDs since i bought this pack. I wish i knew what was wrong, hopefully its the media. On a different note, when the DVDs backed up i had unchecked "Finalize CD" for all of those. Again, it was a 50/50 chance for the burn process to complete.

Merry Xmas!

i don't know enough about Fuji discs, i thought the Taiyo Yuden Fuji discs were supposed to have a MID (media code) of 'YUDEN000T02', not the generic TYG02 code. hmmm, dunno what to say as i don't know enough about Fuji.

edit- found it "Fujifilm DVD-R 8x (TYG02)", so it would appear they're genuine Fuji discs.

another edit - some info on those discs you bought - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272692

not sure where to go next for you other than to point the finger at that burner.. at least you got some real nice discs now

Well I got two backups to copy yesterday, the odd thing is that the only way the discs burn is if I have the "Finalize Disc" option unchecked, that just seems strange. Whenever I have "Finzlize Disc" checked it doesn't even start, it almost instantly says "Reset Occured" and then get this error

you need to keep with a thread to conclusion instead of spreading the problem across mutiple threads. i've closed this one as you've started this one now - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/275879
