Nope, don't think it will... most people use a modchip or swap magic and a case mod to boot their backup discs as it's a lot easier and more info is available for these methods too.
If it is possible with AR max, then you could run into problems in the future anyway, say you have a problem with a particular dvd backup... hradly anyone else will be able to help you as they won't be using the same boot method. It'd probably be best just to get the swap magic and case mod and then if you have any problems we can try and help you out.
hope that helps

Well, you didn't say that you had a way to open the ps2 without resetting it...
So you have either got a case mod(which includes slidecard or magic keys etc) or you have a circuit board fitted in your ps2 which stops the ps2 from recognising it's been opened.
In that case, then all you need is the swap magic discs and you're away.

naw i dont have any type of mods on it. it's just an old ass V1 PS2 on it's last leg. and it opens with out a reset. (the thing is so did my old one...) i dont see why you need a mod. i've never even seen a PS2 in texas that has to restart wen you open it lol

damn take it eazy. lol i just dont see the point of the case mod. on any PS2 i've ever seen it can open with out reseting. yes i still need swap magic but i dont see a point to a case mod if my PS2 allready opens on it own without a reset.

The point I'm making is that it must have something in it like a cicuit board that stops the ps2 resetting when the drive is opened via the eject button... or a case modification that lets you open the ps2 without using the eject button to use with swap magic... or a modchip, where you just insert the backup of the game and play it.
I think you missed the point, I wasn't saying that you have to reset the ps2... I was saying that you don't want the ps2 to reset and check for an original disc..that's what the modifications do.

ok but any PS2 i've seen opens with out rebooting. like all my ARmax stuff will just boot st8 form the ARmax screen to the game. or it's the same if say im playing TXR3 and i want to race some one but i need a car thats black to race them or some thing i can just pull the disk out for a sec and put it back in. and it doesnt reboot i just keep playing the game. maybe it's swap magic making it reboot for you guys so you need a mod. cus you do know that any reseting stuff on the PS2 has to be programed intot the game. like some of the newer games that wont just reset the PS2 if you hit the reset button. you have to hold it down and put it in sleep mode but with a old game say midnite club you can just tap the reset button and it will reset.
