Is it possible to backup an CD .iso file to a DVD+R disc?

I want to backup Marvel vs Capcom 2 but my Ps2 is having trouble reading CD discs but it still reads DVDs.

Is it possible to backup and burn the .iso to a DVD+R disc?

Will it play?

I extracted the .iso file using DVD Decrypter. Then burned it to a DVD+R but Swap Magic/PS2 would not recognize it as a PS2 game.

Yes you can. Theres a prog, I think called dvdscanlite, thatll patch the files so it passes dvd checks.
I had to do this to capcom vs snk2 and sf ex to make a multi game.
the cvs2 loads fine, but ex3 wont. Im gonna try again to see if i just did ex3 wrong.
I wanted put MvC2, Cvs2, SVC chaos, 3rd strike, evolution and ex3 on 1 dvd, (but unfortunately besides 3rd strike and evolution I havent borrowed from my friend yet so havent looked at the files) mvc2, svc and cvs2 share common file names so it wont work.
