I bought a couple backups on Imation discs down in South America a couple months back, somewhere someone mentioned Imation DVD r- 's as Laser Killers....hmm???

should I recopy these from imation discs to let's say something else such as the dvd+r tdk's(r+ or r- is better for ps2 copies...i dunno) that I just got or will these tdk dvd+r be better off for backing up my computer files and not PS2 use

Depends on the media code on the discs, but i wouldn't trust using them in your ps2.
