Hey guys, I seem to be in a pretty sticky situation. A long while ago I bought a Top Loading mod and Swap Magic (3.6) for my PS2. Now I've been fine for months now- untill today.

Today I got my copy of Tales of Symphonia. It's a Japanese PS2 import, legit and all. It's the best seller version, just throwing that out there just in case it matters.

I think you see where this is going, but, whenever I try to load the game via Swap Magic, it says it's not a valid PS2 disk. That's kind of not possible due to the fact that's it's an import game and all, so that's my problem...

Is there anyway of explaining why this is happening, and how I could fix this? Thanks for any input guys, I've snooped around these forums for a long time, you always helped me out, but this time lurking wasn't getting anything done! Hehe~

Well, as I said in my first post, it's the original copy of the game, not a copy.

Try reinstalling everything to the PS2 that you use for imports/burned games, if that's even possible.

I don't see how that would fix much, it's not like my PS2 is failing to read any disks at all, just this single game.

Japanese games are also regarded as NTSC. The "LOAD" option for Swap Magic 3.6 has three options: NORMAL, NTSC and PAL. Choose NTSC and boot.

My Swap Magic 3.6 Plus has never let me down, it has been booting flawlessly. If it's a CD-R backup, then simply use the Swap Magic CD disc, if it's a DVD backup, use the Swap Magic DVD boot disc.

I am having the same problem. Just brings me back to the "Please insert a valid PS2 game" screen. This is driving me mad. Using import (NTSC) version of "Call of Duty". Anyone any ideas. Brand new version of game and Swap magic 3.6 DVD disk.

Help!
