Hi all, I've just checked the version of my psp in it's settings and it say's "software version 2.01". Can you run homebrew on this? I know from reading various posts that you should really have version 1.5 or 2. but would this version 2.01 be classed as a 2 ? thanks.

no, version 2.01 is NOT 2.00 - so, u can't play isos or homebrew (yet ), the only good news is u can play TETRIS - the only hb game and that theyre working hard on it to get more games to work

There's nothing to stop you from importing Video into your PSP?. Save Copyright Laws, Your Conscience or the size of your MemoryStick?!

There are plenty of programs out there that can convert Video to the PSP? or Video iPod? (both beeing .mP4 Video),. One of the better Free Tools to do this would be PSP Video 9...

Can I just ask, what way do the versions go? Is there tons of different versions? As in if mines a version 2.01 and they go beyond 2.5, Just curious. Your prob right Ichijoe, but sayin that, I havn't got much of a conscience lol

The offical Firmware of the day! is v2.60 Of couse right minded Poeple would tell S0NY® just what they could do wither there v2.60, but thats another Thread.

Simple run down...

1.00 (Orginal Japanese Firmware) HB\ISO Yes\Yes
1.50 (Orginal US \ Japanese Update) HB\ISO Yes\Yes
1.51 HB\ISO No\No
1.52 (Orginal European Firmware) HB\ISO No\No
*2.00 HB\ISO Some\No
2.01 HB\ISO **Edit** Hello World & Tetris\No
2.50 HB\ISO No\No
2.60 HB\ISO No\No

*2.00 Can be exploited to allow you to update (i.e. downgrade), back to 1.50. Which with the Fanjita 2.0 EBOOT Loader is made almost mute! in the same way that 1.50 made 1.00 mute. the only thing you cant do is run *.iso's which you souldn't be running in the first place!! Orginal PSP? Games play better from the UMDs'?!!

At the monent there is no need for anyone to update past v2.00! v2.50 has the update for S0NYs'® $400.00(USD) LocationFREE? Player. v2.60 has an update for RSS (Podcasting), streaming. Neither of wich are worth looseing Homebrew over!!
