I have firmware version 2.01 RIght out of the box i formatted my memory card and it setup these two main directorys

MP_ROOT
PSP

within the MP_ROOT directory it setup two subfolders 100ANV01 and 100MNV01

iv'e read on a zillion webpages (including this one) how to rename my MP4 files and getting them into the right folder.

I've followed the directions for renaming my MP4 files (and THM thumbs) and placing them in the 100MNV01 folder --

yet when i go to VIDEO on the PSP it says there are no video files.

What am i doing wrong??

I had that happen to me a few times but i used a program called PSP Video 9, it converts and sends the file(s) to the PsP so give that a try and see if it works.

Now i know it DOES work!

if I remember right in something i read you have to put the files outside of the all the default files \\\\("11. Be careful where you place the video file on the Memory Stick. Unlike music and picture files, your video files need to be placed outside of the "PSP" folder. Create a folder called "MP_ROOT" and inside that folder create another folder named "100MNV01." That is the folder you need to copy your encoded video files to.")\\\\on the memory card and you have to start the files with M4V then some numbers (this is case senative if i remember right and the numbers don't matter but would be smart to make them something useful) what the ending should be is .MP4 i.e.

M4V12340.MP4

FILE STRUCTURE SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS
MP_ROOT
100MNV01
M4V12340.MP4
PSP

I am somewhat new at this but im almost certain this is how to do it in short

heres some small specs. just for the heck and the peps.

16:9 widescreen
480 x 272 pixel high-resolution screen
displays full color 16.77 million colors
Region 2 for UMD Movies (Region Free for Games)

movie specs.
320x240/29.97/512/64kbps and the entire movie came out around 440mb
you can play with the settings on this like try using 480x272 instead of 320x240 and you can make the frame rate around 15 also the human ear only hears 20kbps (20 kb's per seconds anyway)so if drop a little audio (since you most like use headphones anyways)

thats all i have to say don't queto me on all this like i said im kinda new at this....
