Help! AVS video converter 4.3! Almost Have IT!

Hi All, I'm New to afterdawn and am struggling with all the same problems.

i recently purchased avs video converter 4.3 software online and am struggling to overcome an obstacle with it. I am attempting to change over a dvd to put onto my new ipod video. I have already managed to convert the file, and the file works in itunes and on the ipod. However, i am having an UNUSUAL audio lag. The file plays fine for about a half hour perfectly in synch, but from there it starts to drift and is very noticable after about an hour and fifteen minutes. I am using the highest setting for the ipod video quality and have it set on 320 x 240 for the size as thats the highest the ipod supports. I tried to change the frame rate for the video to that of the imput file already, although it doesn't actually show in the fold out (advanced) screen that it is registering... Initially, at the start of the movie, it is all synched up, which makes me think it could have something to do with the output framerate which the program doesn't give me an option to fix (or at least it appears not to). I have also noticed that having the right codecs could be the problem, and i would love to know what codec i would need if this could be why its not staying in synch. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
