Im planning on building a cpomputer.
The Mobo I want to get has 24 pin connector
The case I want has 20.
SO my question is if a powersupply has a 20+4 pin connector does that mean it can to connected to either a 20 or 24 pin mobo.

Also whats the best barnd of power supply
are coolermasters any good?

As far as i know a 20 Pin mobo has 1 block of 20 pins to connect the power supply to wheras a 24 pin has the same 20 block and a seperate block of 4 (at least thats how it is on my mobo) so id say that a 20 + 4 pin PSU would cut it.

Brand isnt particularly important with power supplies. what you need to make sure of is that you have got one with the correct rating for your pc. To make sure you buy a powerfull enough power supply, stick all the stats of the pc your building into this calc

Also it not important but id reccomend you get a Modular power supply so that you dont end up with loads of extra unused cables dangling inside your case

A "20+4 pin" connector generally means that it has a 24 pin connector that has a 4 pin block that detatches from that so you don't need an adapter to use it on a 20 pin mobo.
Brands of power supplies DO matter to some extent. Name brands tend to be better than freebies that come with generic cases. Some Coolermaster PSU's are quite good. I have one in my desktop system right now.
DDP is right they do have adapters so you can use a 20 pin PSU on a 24 pin mobo. But if your mobo is a DFI Lanparty, you should use a high rated PSU with a 24 pin output because those mobos are hungry.
There is no "best brand of PSU" but some good ones are PC power and cooling, Seasonic, Sparkle,Fortron, Antec, OCZ, and there are several other good ones out there.
