Burned KH2, works till title screen but prob trying to start a new game

I downloaded KH2 iso and burned it on a Memorex (8x, DVD-R cd) and it was a success. I burned it 8x on Nero. Successful results although I'm having a problem, the game starts and loads and get to the title screen, but whenever I try to start a new game, the game just turns pitch black and I try waiting nothing appears. Can someone please help me? I really want to play this game :(

Problem 1-Memorex is terrible for game backups
Problem 2-burn at 4x on a 8x DVD-R
