I have tried to copy the image of Driver 3 with either DVD Decrypter or Alcohol 120% and I get similar error message.

When reaching 49% on DVD decrypter I get this error message

I/O Error!

Device: [1:1:0] JLMS DVD-ROM LTD-166S DS0B (G:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 00 0F 1E 39 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 990777

I then have 3 buttons to choose from

Abort Retry Ignore.

Can someone help me out and indicate to me what could I do to bypass this.

Thanks

You may be getting this because your disc is scratched/dirty

Try this:
Quote:
Open Decrypter, click on Tools, then Settings

Click on Defaults, then select these;

General tab
Options - Removal Method - Aggressive

File Mode tab
Options - Remove PUOs (IFO and/or VOB)

ISO Read Mode tab
Options - Remove PUOs (IFO and/or VOB)

CSS tab
CSS Cracking Method - Brute Force ~> I/O Key Exchange

On Failure - Yes

IMPORTANT:
I/O tab
Options - Ignore read errors.

Or another option is to use iso buster, put the game into the drive... select all the files/folders and right click and select extract... choose a place on your hard drive to store these files.

Then rebuild the game into an iso and burn it, there are several ways of rebuilding.

1) use sony cd/dvd generator.

2) use Nero burning rom (not express version).

I think both of these ways are described in the patching/rebuilding thread which is in the stickies at the top of the board.

Another way is to just get the game from somewhere else and copy it normally.

Good luck with it

@ encryptor

i've done a successful backup of the game. i used Alcohol 120% to make the backup.

i put the game disc into my dvd drive and clicked the "image making wizard" and then simply clicked the "image burning wizard" after the image was stored on my hard-drive.

the backup works fine. i don't know if this is of any use to you but that's how i did it. oh and it was a PAL version (i don't know if this is of any help either).

Thank you very much guy's. This has helped a lot as I also found the copy of Driver 3 was skipping, meaning it was scratched, so I returned it to the renting place and got another one and made the copy and its working fine now.

I also thought of something, would it be possible to simply explore the CD from the DVD-ROM drive and copy its content to the HDD instead of going through the hole step of having the game being read by DVD Decrypter.

Once the files are copied from the DVD you would simply go into ISO buster and create an ISO file and then use DVD Decrypter to burn the image file. Would this avenue be possible?

Nope, iso buster does not build iso's.. hence the name "buster"

The quickest way is to iso read and iso write with DVD Decrypter.

You could extract the files using iso buster as you said.. but then you need to rebuild the iso so that you can burn it.. so would take longer generally speaking.
