USB asks to "please insert disk" into PSP

I am using an XP system to access my Sony PSP. I have followed all the steps i.e... set PSP in USP mode, reformatted disk etc. I am using a 1gb Sansdisk memory stick.

The PC recognizes a removable drive, but when I click on it it tells me to insert a disk in the PSP. The disk is in the PSP and I am sure it is loaded correctly.

Is this a driver problem? Can someone help me. FYI I have the same problem if I use the standard 32mb memory.

OK, I used my USB cable on a laptop and everything worked great so I know it is something on my PC. When I plug in the USB on my PC it sends me to the hardware wizard looking for a driver. Does anyone know how I can get it to work on my desktop PC? Appreciate any insight.

also do you have a printer with a memory stick reader on it

let me explain why

i have a hp allin one printer with a memory stick reader

it labels the memory stick ready as i:\drive on my computer when i go to connect my psp to my computer it lists the psp as drive e:

then everytime i try to transfer stuff from pspdrive.com it tells me it couldn't find my device so i hit cancel and it works weird huh

I am having the same problem. I cannot get the memory card (1gb SanDisk) to play- AutoRun just keeps popping up and it does not recognise that there is a disk, although the PSP does. Whenever I try to put something on it, it asks me to insert a disk into drive I. I'm using a memory card reader, not a USB cable. There's no problem with my other memory stick (128mb) but I noticed there was an autoplay file there that wasn't there before. Any suggestions? I don't have a USB cable.
