Heylo.
Recently, I have tried to burn some games which I have re-built, but get write errors so they tend to fail.
Games - Need For Speed : Most Wanted
007 : From Russia With Love
I have not tried any others.. but I am using official verbatim 8x media (TG02 dye) and burning at 1x.

try burning at 8x and 4x

wat sort of errors do u get?
are they I/O Errors?
which program are u using? decrypter or Nero?

They were I/O errors, check condition, write errors. The conditions of the media I am using is perfectly fine.
And I was using DVD Decrypter, yes. It also does the same with Nero/Alcohol etc. But I am investigating writing at other speeds just now.

u can resolve I/O Error by changing the status of ur writer from Slave to Master and the vice-versa.
if this doesn't help, try reinstalling the drive. if this fails as well,then i believe u shud get ur drive checked by a professional.

Have you got the WNASPI.DLL file in your windows/system32 directory? if not then I guess you're using SPTI as the I/O interface..
You can download the WNASPI.DLL file from here..
http://www.nero.com/en/WNASPI32.DLL.html
Put that into your c:\windows\system32 folder, and then go into dvd decrypter and click on tools>settings.
click the I/O tab..and where it says interface, under it it should say ASPI - WNASPI32.DLL ..click the radio button to the left of that.
Have you got the latest firmware for your drive? and do you have DMA enabled on your IDE controllers?

I got my drive about a year and a half - 2 years ago, and I tried to update the firmware and it said there was no updates!
I'm not sure how to check I have DMA enabled, and I will try putting the driver in my sys32 dir.

Look for a firmware update again.. you can either just go straight here :- http://forum.rpc1.org/index.php
or open up DVD Decrypter, select which drive you want to check as the source/destination or whatever (as long as it's visible) then right click on the drive and a drop down menu will appear, click check for firmware updates.
In WinXP:
To check if your DMA is enabled go to control panel, system ...>
Click the hardware tab and select device manager button.
In device manager, you will see your devices.. expand the one which says IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
Right click on primary IDE channel and select properties from the menu.. then click the advanced tab when the window appears.. you should now see something like this:-
If it's not on DMA when available, then select it.
Do the same for the secondary IDE channel.

Hey Again,
I checked, I do have DMA enabled.
However, in regards to the firmware, I managed to get to this page - http://tdb.rpc1.org/#GSA4082B
Now.. my drive, is - HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4082B (LG Drive) and there are some listed, but I am not sure which one I have to go for, if you have the time (And patience!) would you be able to point out which one I am to install? Thanks!

I'd assume A209 (Windows or DOS, depending on your OS) since most firmware goes in sequencial order.

Well, I've tried burning a PS2 game again (without upgrading the firmware yet)
And here's the error I get -

EDIT : Burnt at 2x instead of 1x and has begun the process of burning without any errors.. (again, without updating the firmware)
