ok, hiya all... this is my first post, so feel free to insult for all the stupid questions that I am gonna ask.

I just bought a ps2 (the new slim version for USA)

I have downloaded several games from various bit torrent sites which are in various image formats (iso, bin/cue, mdf, etc....)

I have most(if not all) buring programs (nero, alcohol, magic iso, dvd decrpyter, etc...)

I have a single layer dvd+rw drive, and use hp dvd+r 8x blanks.

I have burned several images to dvd at 2.4x speed and NONE of 'em will work in the ps2. the usual error is INSERT A PS2 FORMAT DISC.

NOW here come the dumb questions... I have seen other postings talk about mod chips, slide cards, other boot methods, etc.. and it's all GREEK to me.

do I need to use anything external to use these games ?
is so, what & how?

do I need to make any internal mod's to the ps2 console?
if so what & how?

are dvd+r blanks OK?

ARE THERE any special settings that must be configured in the burning software ?

ANY advice is greatly appreciated as well as any other helpful input that you care to share, and btw, don't forget the newbie insults! they're appreciated too!
