hey i am a big newsgroups fan use newzbins and news rover... got some ps2 images, and some xbox images. Xbox i softmoded and works, tried ps2 doesnt work so far. i tried burning iso with nero... red please insert ps2 disc..started to get dvdcrypter...red please insert ps2 disc... when and looked up some settings for dvd crypter and tried again...red please insert ps2 disc... what can i do.. note.. i have not modded or taken my ps2 apart or have a swap trick. i do however have a hdloader disc working.. and a harddrive with 3 games...is there a hex code i need or a program i am not using and i am using a dvd+r by phillps with a sony dvd burner so media is okay in my opinion

well.. most people dont mod thier ps2's (thus voiding the warranty) for their health. YOU NEED TO MOD YOUR PS2 IN SOME FASHION TO PLAY BACKUPS!. Read some of the stickies at the top of the forums.. especially the frequently asked questions sticky to educate yourself on the various methods of modding your ps2 to play your lovely backups.

Yep, as Mysifier said, you need either a modchip installed in your ps2 or a combination of swap magic and a case mod(aftermarket fliptop/slidecard/slimtools/magic keys etc)

You cannot play backup games with a stock(store bought) system... and before you ask, you can't use a downloaded version of swap magic discs either..it simply won't work. Now it's up to you if you take my advice or not, but you could save yourself a few discs.
