Hi there,

my question would be is it possible to convert avi to something to fit on a dvd format. I already know how to convert them to mpg n then burn them on dvd but the fact is I have 5 season movie that I dl n want to burn on a dvd, each season has 22 movies in it. now i heard of converting avi to iso, not sure if it works or how, or even if that way can put several movie on a dvd format?. Or is there another way cheaper to do it as I know its going to take a lot lot lot of vcd or dvd to burn all of them. so does it exists that way ? a simple conversion that would probably fit more than 5 avi format movie on a dvd.

thanks for your help anyone.

Assuming that the files are on divx/xvid format, the easiest way would be buying a dvd player that plays divx/xvid files. This way you wouldn't have to convert them, and the quality wouldn't suffer. If that is not an option, then I'm afraid that the only chance is converting them to a dvd. You can fit more movies on a single disc by reducing the bitrate, but that's not going to look pretty.

hello arcanix, thx for the answer, yeah i believe it is a DivX format unfortunately i wont be able to buy another dvd player i heard they can be expensive those that read DivX format. anyway i think the best would be to burn the AVI movies on a dvd (since that's the biggest space cd). But the hic is that i've never done that before, I mean do you just - I use Nero program - select dvd and make dvd movies.

so my question would be how to burn it with Nero program. ??????

for more info, im actually gonna watch it on my computer since i cant convert it to mpeg dvd format as I have now 8 season of a movie and each is 22 title .

thx in advance to anyone.

Hi marilor,

Sure ya can. Why not?
My Nero will do that - there are other ways too, some use DVDSanta etc.
You will need to author a compliant DVD, and they fit 2 hours on a single-layer DVD, so yeah you will need a bunch o' blanks :^)
So you see, AVIs are great right? They are just somewhat limited in broad playback compatibility...

Hey thx OGS, actually i meant that i can't convert it to mpg with Nero because it take more space so i will fit less movie on 1 dvd, I know already how to author, convert etc for dvd. I wanted a way to fit an AVI format without any conversion on a dvd, and i actually found it :).

I select dvd and then make "data" and 12 episode will fit on 1 disc (still in AVI format. that was the only way I found, i tried the rest but it doesn't work, for sure I could have done a backup but then it would create all those folders n that (I already tried it for something else)plus i would be afraid to del the movies since to restore i believe it will restore back to its place (i think ? )

The reason I del is no space on that ...... computer.

Thx a million thought :).
