Hello,

I suggest you try AnyDVD with CloneDVD as these two are made for each other. You can check the link below for the latest versions.

Good Luck.

It does have ARccOS or ripguard on it (can't remember what one). I used AnyDVD 5.6.3.1 (lastest ver) along with good ol DVD Shrink and it worked out perfect.

Not sure if this is still the case but back in the day I remember reading that DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD didn't get along very well.

"ARccOS? is the first and only available digital and dynamic DVD-Video copy control which effectively prevents unauthorized DVD copying on PC. ?Our customers are pleased to finally have found a copy control solution for DVD-Video that protects their content successfully."
HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!

Use VobBlanker to get rid of the previews and other garbage from the movie. If you need info on how to use the program, I wrote a guide using Kindom of Heaven as an example. I show how to remove FBI Warnings, Special features and unwanted parts of the main movie like intros and credits. You can send me a PM with your e-mail and I can send it your way.

If when you try to compress the movie the main movie does not compress less than 90%, then this means that the movie is still corrupted. You will have to fix it with FixVTS.

Check out the guide I posted on ARccOS here:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260734

Skip down to the "FixVTS" section. It is a very simple fix.

dvd fab decrypter and using DVD Shrink 2.3 will work on the cave. you have to use the fabdecrypter and compress it with DVD Shrink 2.3 after that you can reauthor it by dragiing the titles to the new menu. bt if anyone could help i like to have the menus on my oives if not then oh well the movie is better than anything

@Tighthoe.... after ripping to hard drive.... use DVDRemake and you can take out or leave anything you want from a DVD! menus and all! Take out the warning screens and unwanted previews or what ever! Or...... you can use DVDRebuilder Pro with CCE set to Movie and menus only! there's a program for everything!

And welcome to AfterDawn!

Hmmm, I must wonder how in the heck you can back-up "The Cave" when it does not release till Tuesday? Anyway, my opinion is that CloneDVD 2 & the latest AnyDVD WILL take care of this easily.
I'd bet on it. I have yet to see a DVD that this combo can't do with Excellent Results. Dark Water was no problem with this Combo.

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

I use DVDFab Express if the quality is above 80%! Otherwise it's good 'ole DVDDecrypter and DVDR-B Pro~! Never had a problem with any DVD that is out there now! Tues. will be the release date of the CAVE in the USA, and I'm sure it will be easy to backup!

@TightHoe...... you didn't set your PREFERENCES to TARGET SIZE....set it at CUSTOM 4384kb! This way Shrink will compress your movie to that size and it will always be just the right size where it won't go too close to the out rim of the DVD when burning!

Hey guys. Had to add a new program to the mix. I could only get the sound to come out right by using program called FixVTS. Exact order I used was DVDFab Decrypter then VOB Blanker then FixVTS then Shrink. Sound ok. You could skip VOB Blanker if you don't mind the ads and warnings or just want the movie only. Hope this helps everyone.

The Cave, CloneDVD 2 & AnyDVD version 5.7.3.1, No Problem at all!
In fact Very easy & the results were Superb! SlySoft DID JUST Release version 5.7.3.1 today. I think the last version would have took care of it though. Anyway,
The Cave is EASY with this combination.
Edit. Total time to back-up Main Movie, 17 minutes & 57 seconds. From Start to Completion! No joke.

All you do is install the program and reboot your PC (you only do this when you install or update the program). After it boots, insert your DVD and look in your system tray. If you see a Red Fox, then you are ready to rip. If the Fox is grey, it means it is analyzing...wait until it turns red (Only takes a few seconds).

Then, use your favorite ripping program or just drag and drop the movie files to your Hard Drive. AnyDVD removes the Copy Protection and corruption, so the other ripper will not have any problems ripping the DVD.
