Real games have data PRESSED into the very centre of the disc called the BCA or Burst Cutting Area. The BCA cannot be copied by DVD burners so to play a backup you need a modchip which disables the PS2 from searching for the BCA.

Yes but they costs 10,000's of dollars. That's why the game manufacturers use them. Normal burners can't write to the BCA area.

@LiquidusX- That's uncalled for. It may not be the best question of all time, but I've read a lot worse.

jamo55, knock off the swearing as per forum rules above.

LiquidusX, pull that stunt again & you might hear the thunder. you've done over 500 posts whereas i'm over 12k but at least i'm civil about it. read the forum rules above about posting. we will always have newbies ask questions without searching so either live with it or leave. did you search when you were a newbie, probably not.
