Hey guys, I just got some new discs (Verbatim), and I downloaded a game (Pro Evo 2). I burnt the game right at 4x and i booted the ps2 up in swap magic etc. When it came to putting the disc in, i inserted it, and "Invalid PS2 disc" or something like that came up. I know I am booting Swap Magic up and everything right, i just dont know what to do...
p.s This is the first time i have ever downloaded a game, so maybe i need to do something to the files?
Help would be much aprieciated!!
Thanks

Ok, first off... what case mod do you have for the ps2 so that you can swap the discs with swap magic without the ps2 resetting?

One of the problems could be your outdated dvd writer firmware.. look here:- http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1628
according to DVD Decrypter yours is A300.. the latest for yours is A304, so it's quite out of date..that's why it only says supported write speed 2x as well I would think... update the firmware and you should see a big improvement.

Hey, thanks for the help...i clicked that link to the new firmware...but i think the link is down. The following messege appears:
Save_as function is not temporarily supported.
Please just click & open the file. Then, save the file in your PDF reader.
Save_as function will be supported once again ASAP.
If possible, could you please download it and send it to me :)
Thanks

Well, remember that it say this Quote: These pages are only for advanced users. Bad flashing could destroy your drive definitively. Read carefully the installation notes of your firmware before you upgrade. The Firmware Page and the drive manufacturer can't be responsable on REMEMBER: This is at your own risk!!!!
I think it's an exe file isn't it? if so make sure the drive is empty and then run the .exe file

Hey, heres what it says on the README file...i dont really understand it, could you explain please...
LG GxA-404xB RPC1 Firmware (GSA/GMA/GWA/GRA/GCA)
An RPC1 firmware defeats the internal counters within the drive and
removes region enforcement. This only is HALF of the equation. You
need to use DVD Genie or similar software to control your player
software.
A304 21-May-2004
The drive should be flashed to at least A302 using LG's flasher before
applying the RPC1 version.
The update requires Real DOS, a DOS box under Windows is not suitable.
The command line for the flasher, assuming a Secondary Master drive is
lg4040b -sec -mas -flash a304rpc1.bin
Vlad & Igor, The Dangerous Brothers.
What is REAL DOS???

Real DOS, means the proper DOS usage.. NOT where you boot in windows and then choose dos prompt.. you have to boot to DOS.
I haven't used that way of updating my firmware so can't help you there I'm sorry.. with my drives it's always been a .exe that flashes the drive and then you just turn the computer off and then start it, wait for the computer to recognise and install your new drive and then restart it to complete the firmware update.
Did you try the other link I gave you..maybe that one's different???

Yep, I was trying to work out why it only showed 2x and 4x for supported write speeds.... but then figured it out that it's the max speed of your burner.
Try burning the game again, this time at 4x using DVD Decrypter on the verbatim 8x DVD-R discs you have.
let me know how you get on?
