OK, I dont know if anyone remembers my post from the other day, but basically after trying 4 different brands, I found that Verbatim is working great. Then I noticed that I couldnt burn any slower than 6x. Well I tried one of the other brands, Sony, that wouldnt work in the ps2 at all, and it says now it can burn at 4x..meaning, the verbatims that work great..the lowest they can be written to is 6x...does this sound right? I mean shouldnt every disc have the capability to burn at 1x-4x if they can burn faster? and another question, the games ive been burning at 6x..most work great, some are a little buggy and have skips in audio..do you guys think that burning at just 2x slower will make much of a difference? This is so annoying that I have to go try and find some verbatims that burn SLOWER now...if this is even possible. ALSO..is it true swap magic will put alot of wear and tear on the laser for the slimline? thanks...

Also...why are some games like a little over 1 gig, and others are a little over 4? and why do i never come across a game that is made to go on a CD but swapmagic comes with a CD? Is there maybe a way to fit a 1.2 gig image on a CD? maybe i could burn a CD at 4x and this would work? also, before you tear my ass, I've read hundreds of posts and haven't found info on these questions...thanks again! its kind of weird that being a sony playstation, my sony dvds ive tried to record to says "invalid ps2 disc" but THEY can be written to at 4x...talk about a major pain! Im really curious to find out if the difference between burning at 6x and 4x is enough to fix these little skips in audio and what not. about 5 of the 10 games ive burned at 6x play flawlessly so far. Oh damn..another question...i havent tried this but..is it possible to rent a game and back it up that way? probably an easy question, ive just been DLing them so far...renting and backing up seems easier since some of these come in foreign languagss....ALSO..my GTA3 is real old and didnt work. I took that and backed it up with dvd decryptor, made a backup copy and it works perfect...is this normal?

my main worry is that since verbatim seems to be the only dvd that works, im worried that no matter where i go all verbatims are going to not be able to go as low as 4x...i mean, theyre all the same right? they will all say up to 16x or whatever so how will i know which store or whatever will have a different version of the verbatims that burn slower?

Not very patient are you!!! you waited a whole 1hr 26 minutes and posted 5 times... people come on here in their own free time, it's not customer service!!!

Read some stuff on this board.. all the questions you have are very basic things and have been asked and answered many times before.

You have a swap magic cd, because some of the older games were on cd, and some of the newer games are too, like lego star wars, killer7 etc.
It sounds to me as if your firmware needs updating on your dvd burner, and it also might help to get 8x discs instead of 16x.
If you want to know more about updating firmware do some research and/or use the search function.. and as for where to get discs from, google or read posts on here about media.. there's a link to one in my sig.. and probably hundreds on the AD site.
