I'm new to the forum. I have a OEM version of Nero 6. I have spent a couple of days going over the forum learning how to burn movies.

I was able to find an excellent guide of how to do so with free software, with step by step pictures.

I had no problems backing up my DVD. I am so please with the results. :D

Now I would like to take some avi movies from my hard drive and put them on a dvd. My friend wanted to take some mpeg video and make dvd.

We couldn't figure out how to use Nero 6 to do it. I have seen posts about using Nero Vision Express, but there is not much info on Express 3. I would love to get step by step info like it was for burning movies with the free software, but I haven't been able to find anything.

There was only one post on the subject and it was not helpful.

I know the files have to be converted to compliant DVD video, but how do you do it with nero 6.

Please tell me where I can get info on how to convert the files using Nero 6. Or if there is free software that will do the job, that would be fine too.

Thank you for your time.

It will be the same as the top sticky here. Just replace where it says point on vision with point on vision express.

gwen sorry about the PM I though I was replying to your post with quotes.

I read the info on Nero Vision 4 ..... but I have Nero Vision 3, plus the manual state ... at least for the recode 2 that my oem copy won't do all the functions.

There seems to be nothing on the site about Nero 6 and how to use the OEM version to covert AVI or mpeg files.

Is there another way besides Nero? I'm able to burn movies without it can I do the same with computer files?

Is there info on that?

Thank you for your time.

@spirittoo, if you read the link properly you will see you can use NVE3. I dont know why, nor does alkohol, you have to convert AVI files. Just follow the guide and NVE will do it for you.
In my opinion
Quote:
conversion of AVI files completely unnecessary[/quote

Tools needed:
Nero Vision 4 (if using Nero 7.0.1.4) or Nero Vision Express (if using Nero 6.6.0.18)

Here is the first 2 lines from the link
