I just bought Nero 7 Ultra and love it. I imported mostly previous .avi files made with Windows Movie Maker into the project to author and burn the DVDs (home video) just fine. However, I want to use NeroVision 4 to capture, edit and produce the rest of my home videos now that I'm free from Windows MM. Here's my problem:
The preview window on the left hand side of the screen drops so many frames and is so sticky that I can't work with the captured projects with any efficiency. Here's what's funny: the preview screen functions just fine in WMM -- smooth as glass.
I'm running DirectX 9c, I have plenty of CPU (2.4 GHz), RAM (512 MB), and have a 256MB video memory card (Sapphire ATI). I tried reinstalling both DirectX and my video card drivers to no avail.
I've got the same problem, thought I'd use this app to put chapter menus on AVI created by adobe premiere. files play great there, but the preview window is NeroVision 4 is horrible on my system and renders the app essentially unusable. dvdjwntr, you're not alone.
I've got a tech support request in to Nero, but I heard turnaround time is abysmal, so that's why I came here. Hopefully they'll respond soon. When they do, I'll post their reply here.
Got Sony DVD burner DRX-810-UL/T with Nero 6.6 Ultra for Christmas and am a total newbie to Nero with limited experience with WMM.
When I added my first AVI file which had been edited with WMM, the preview pane was very sticky, jumping from frame to frame with missed frames inbetween. So I EXPORTED the AVI into a MPEG2 file and when the MPEG2 file was added to the project and I went to Edit Movie, the preview pane worked just fine.
BUT I did have a problem which I am posting separately. After choosing CUT and getting the right and left "scissor" cut sliders, the left slider worked just fine but when I clicked on the Right "scissor" cut slider, the program would permanently hang and my only recourse was to End the Program and start over. My work-around was to split the clip twice and delete what I wanted to cut.
